The #1 Way to Wear a Little Black Dress This Fall

Splash News

It's a week into September and we've reached peak transitional dressing,
meaning it's the middle of that awkward time when summer is kind of over but it isn't technically fall weather yet and no one knows what to wear. Enter Kate Bosworth. As you know, Bosworth always looks chic (just try to find an example where she doesn't—you won't). We couldn't even begin to count how many outfit ideas she's given us over the years and her latest look while out and about in New York is case in point.
Bosworth showed that repurposing your little black dress for fall is as simple as adding a lightweight jacket and substantial accessories. In this case, instead of the straw bag and sandals you may have paired with a black slip dress during the summer months, Bosworth chose a black crossbody bag and metallic Mary Jane-style block-heeled pumps. The resulting look is ladylike, polished, and perfect for September. Not only that, it's very easy to recreate.

From locales around the globe, a group of today's most stylish stars put forth their end-of-summer best. January Jones and Kate Bosworth held onto the season with vintage-inspired and vibrantly hued dresses, respectively. Sienna Miller and Lais Riberio seemed to be looking towards fall with moodier color palettes and ankle-grazing trousers. Lily Collins fell somewhere in between the two groups, marrying a heat-beating two-piece with autumn's most arguably beloved footwear: knee-high boots.
